Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi
Altitude: 1,470m (4,823ft)
Duration: 6–7 Hours
Your journey begins with an early morning drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi. The drive passes through scenic hills, rivers, terraced farmlands, and small local villages. As you leave the busy city behind, you’ll enjoy beautiful views of green landscapes and mountain ranges along the way. After reaching Syabrubesi, a small village that serves as the gateway to Langtang Valley, check in to the lodge and rest overnight.
Day 2: Trek from Syabrubesi to Sherpagaun
Altitude: 2,563m (8,409ft)
Duration: 5–6 Hours
After breakfast, the trek officially begins. The trail gradually ascends through forests filled with oak, pine, and rhododendron trees. You will cross suspension bridges and pass by riverside trails while enjoying fresh mountain air and occasional wildlife sightings. Along the way, you’ll pass traditional Tamang settlements and witness local mountain lifestyles. Upon reaching Sherpagaun, enjoy peaceful surroundings and stunning mountain scenery.
Day 3: Trek from Sherpagaun to Thangshyap
Altitude: 3,120m (10,226ft)
Duration: 5–6 Hours
Today’s trek continues deeper into the Langtang region. The trail passes through beautiful forests, waterfalls, yak pastures, and small settlements. As the altitude increases, the landscape begins to change into alpine terrain with clearer mountain views. You’ll experience the rich culture of local communities influenced by Tibetan traditions. Reach Thangshyap by evening and rest at a local teahouse.
Day 4: Trek from Thangshyap to Kyanjin Gompa
Altitude: 3,870m (12,697ft)
Duration: 4–5 Hours
This is one of the most scenic days of the trek. The trail gradually climbs through open valleys surrounded by snow-capped peaks. You’ll pass yak grazing fields, prayer wheels, mani walls, and traditional Buddhist landmarks. Upon reaching Kyanjin Gompa, explore the ancient monastery and surrounding village. The area offers magnificent views of Langtang Lirung and nearby Himalayan peaks. Overnight stay at Kyanjin Gompa.
Day 5: Hike to Kyanjin Ri and Trek to Goda Tabela
Altitude: 3,000m (9,810ft)
Duration: 7–8 Hours
Early in the morning, hike to Kyanjin Ri, one of the best viewpoints in the Langtang region. From the top, enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of snow-covered mountains, glaciers, and the Langtang Valley. After spending time at the viewpoint and taking photographs, descend back and continue trekking downhill toward Goda Tabela. The return trail passes through beautiful forests and peaceful mountain landscapes.
Day 6: Trek from Goda Tabela to Syabrubesi
Altitude: 1,470m (4,823ft)
Duration: 7–8 Hours
Today you continue descending through lush forests, riverside paths, and charming villages. The trail offers a final opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of Langtang National Park. Passing through bamboo forests and suspension bridges, you eventually arrive back at Syabrubesi. Enjoy your final night in the trekking region and celebrate the completion of the adventure.
Day 7: Drive from Syabrubesi to Kathmandu
Altitude: 1,350m (4,429ft)
Duration: 6–7 Hours
After breakfast, drive back to Kathmandu along the scenic mountain highway. Enjoy the final views of hills, rivers, and rural villages during the journey. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, the trek officially concludes with unforgettable memories of the Langtang Valley adventure.
